For a prepaid card, the AA Credit Union prepaid EMV card is really good value for money, i.e. much cheaper than many other prepaid options out there for the following reasons:
- Low $1 reload fee, even from a credit card, with funds available immediately
- No monthly maintenance fee, apart from the $5 per month inactivity fee after 6 months
- 1% international transaction fee
- No transaction fees for signature and PIN transactions in the US
- $2 ATM withdrawal fee, which can be avoided by selecting cash back at a supermarket

The EMV CHIP on the card is an added bonus, as the items listed above cost much more when you compare this card to any competitor US Prepaid card. I got one of these for my wife and I am looking forward to the reduced fees when compared to other prepaid options that I've tried.
