The first time I came to BKK in 2006 was my first trip ever to Asia. I booked the hotel's meet-you-at-the-aircraft-door service as well as the hotel car for the ride back to the hotel. Wasn't cheap (maybe THB 4,000 all in) but worth every penny. I was arriving in the middle of the night after 24+ hours of flying to a destination/continent about which I knew nothing and which was completely foreign to me. Worth every penny. Taxis and Airport Rail Link since then, though.
