Although it would have seem very suspicious that I got a room 2 miles from my home address if someone decided to check into it.

She has no problem using the breakfast vouchers at breakfast even though they have my name on it.
You do have to trust the person staying in the room. If she decided to order tons of room services and pay-per-views, it would have came out from my credit card.

Actually it is the hotels' business if you are staying in the room or not. Under the Hilton Honors terms you agree to abide by the rules. One of the rules is that you will get points and benefits only if you are occupying the room.
This is true but if you do not put the other person on the reservation the hotel can consider them as a non-resident. If they lock themslef out of the room the hotel will not let them into the room without you presenting yourself to the front desk. Or the hotel
should not let them in the room without you being physically present.
