If you make the reservation in your name and put him as a guest, check-in as if you are staying, check-out, and pay for the room then you will get points. Should you, not under the terms of Hilton Honors. Will you, almost 100% yes. Make sure that his name is also on the reservation or he will not be able to get into the room if the key card is lost. The front desk will only issue new keys to registered guest.
But remember that you will be responsible for any and all costs, this includes any charges your friend makes and/or damages. I know this is probably not an issue, but just make sure you are willing to be responsible since it is your name on the reservation and you are claiming to be staying in the room.
