Rant on AA advantage members....and a question

So I have been a member of AA for about 20 years now. I only fly about 10-13 RTs a year with them, so I am sure some of you laugh....

My question is this... Why do I sometimes get put in Group 3 or 4 when I fly what I would say is WAY more than most on my flight? I see people in Group 1 that HAVE NO IDEA how an airplane works much less been on one before. I am not talking down to these folks, but they are literally in PJs and running shorts. Not that that matters, but you can tell they dont travel.

No, I am not trying to claim 'me me me' but this seems odd that a returning customer for this many years gets kicked to the curb.

Is there any reason to this from AA or is it just a random selection type of thing? Because if it is random, I have the worlds sh!tt!est luck of all of time.

Oh.. And I typically get Group 3 or group 4 out of Texarkana (TXK). Go figure that one out, its a small RJ with typically 15 people on board. And most of these flights are $600+ to the west coast via DFW.
