I am looking at a few choices for travel in C to Europe from LAX. On the outbound I am booking a D Fare in business, and on the return I am booking a W or U fare in economy with a GPU (that is only waitlisted for the flights listed below).

My question is which of the outbound TATL choices below are best for comfort (i.e. lie flat, amenities, aircraft "nicety") and which of the return flights have the best combination of upgrade likelihood + comfort (as defined above)? The fares as it turns out are almost identical.
