Because of initial refusal to delete, higher people in charge will be present, who will then take control of the situation. You will likely be accommodated or re-accommodated as they delegate the end to an uncomfortable course of events, an abusive agent not re-booking a downgrade. Now, Singapore won't break any rules for you, but if you ask for what is allowed in your ticketing rules, or cabin in this case, you will find this a bold, but effective tactic.
Remember the purpose of this is to be rebooked. The picture only needs to be taken when the abuse will not stop with a series of requests. But, it gets the job done.
assuming higher level staff will be present...... what if they dont show up? Like in HKG, I had an issue that cannot be resolved, I asked for the Station Manager they refused until I found her hiding someone with a name tag "MANAGER" on it..... With AC, I ended up speaking to the Concierge not Station Manager (but they looked the same with the AC uniform).
what if the cop sides with the airline staff and against you as well......... In singapore that would typically mean an arrest and be sent to an investigating officer at the police center as opposed to having an airline manager present? Airline manager would most likely receive the incident report, a statement from the employee(s) involved, file it and move on...... there might be a notation on your PNR saying you were a trouble maker (like the run in I had with AC Res a few years back, I kept on telling them they calculated my fare differences wrong - got so frustrated on both ends and their supervisor said my file is locked for further changes and I'm 'blacklisted' on their system - thank god I had Business Traveller magazine and FTers to help me out).
Would u be better off leaving that supervisor alone and get an airport staff to search for the Station Manager instead?
That was the whole purpose of sending the cop with the SIN supervisor, is to swiftly escort you off the plane if you are not going to listen to "authorities". The only way you can get upper management attention is if you find a way to delay the flight (like refuse to deboard the plane like the chinese tourists did when they were not happy with the $50 compensation).
IME, authorities tend to listen to authority figures first....... or the first incident caller..... Especially in a place like Singapore where people will tend to obey the "calmer person" or the "representative since he/she will make the final decision not the police"
