What do you think yourself when you look at the difference in fares?
Sure, you could get a refund for the return part of your trip. But that will trigger a recalculation of the outbound part of your ticket to the one-way fare.

Just book a round-trip and don't fly the return.

Or look at LH, sometimes they have one-ways that are cheaper than the round-trip fares.
