I encounter this problem frequently, which apart from DCC, is the main reason I've stopped using my US credit cards for the most part.

But, whenever I need to get money into a US account, I figure out a way to make it happen. Most companies I work with have the means to do the drill, but sometimes Paypal or Western Union are involved (high fees). A far easier approach, especially if you are paid in RMB is to simply function as a banker for the people who visit you here, and entrust them to deposit money into your BofA account when they go back to the US. While I try to avoid using this method with complete strangers (especially for anything north of $2500), I've yet to be burned, and it is a good litmus test for potential business partners.
