Hi Soarer, I think they sell one that works for the iPhone 4. I don't know about the 3GS. Can't speak to the battery issue but I would guess you don't have to worry about it (in the same way that if you battery goes dead now, you don't have to worry about "resetting" the SIM card when it's charged again).

I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually used the thing and might be able to address both your questions and mine.
