This is the biggest negative when booking with Latin American carriers.....their customer service on the whole is atrocious.
I agree with you, the wording seems to indicate that a ticket on any LATAM group qualifies for the pass.....I can't see how it could be interpreted any other way.
All I can advise is that you phone again and if you get the same answer ask to speak to a manager.
