Although it is probably a no-brainer, I'll mention it since no one else has - think about seat assignments. I don't have a problem at all with <1 hour connections at the hubs. But when I get one of those, I make VERY sure that I get a seat as close to the door as possible. Like all of us, I have spent a LOT of time waiting for folks to deplane. Another consideration is gate-checked bags on the RJs. It helps if you can just get off the plane and go without having to stand around the jetway and wait for a gate-checked bag.
