The experience was even better because my wife and 5 yos were with me.
And I think that is the key thing. When I travel for work, well, I don't really care about upgrades. But pretty much 100% of the times I have redeemed my points for a stay (maybe 3 or 4 times this year), it was with my girlfriend: each time I got an upgrade and got very well treated.
So far, I have enjoyed my Elite status!
