My situation is a little bit complicate.
I have a UA ticket from SFO to LIH with a HA connection in HNL. Because UA's rule is 75 minutes connection time, I can only take the last 10:00pm flight.
There are 2 earlier flights I might be able to make it: one is HA 7:20pm but without UA code share, another one is 7:28pm Island Air with UA code share.
My question is can I standby 7:20 HA flight? Since it is not code share with UA, will that affect my return flight? (Will the system assume I skip the HNL-LIH leg?)
Alternatively can I make a confirmed same day change or standby 7:28 UA code share Island Air flight once the SFO flight touchdown in HNL? If both ways are possible, which airline is more convenience in terms of gate location?
