I may have to cancel an AP reward ticket for which I paid AC $90 x 2 for preferred seats. AP agent says AC will refund the fee, AC says fees are non-refundable.

The AC Terms and Conditions say:

Tango standard seat selection charges are non refundable, except if: you decide not to travel on your selected itinerary and you paid for Tango standard seat selection. The value of your Tango standard seat selection charge will be retained and can be applied towards seat selection on a future Air Canada itinerary.

...which isn't very helpful.

Any experience with this situation?
