Fast forward to today. I called LANPASS and we looked at ten different itineraries for this week for my trip. Looked at originating from IAH/HOU/DFW and going to LAS or SAN. Response from the LANPASS agent was there is no availability. In all cases, AA.com is showing milesaver availability for an Aadvantage award. Honestly, it just seems like a scam to me. Probably I am over-reacting but if AA will issue me an award ticket, why won't LA? As it stands, it seems my 90k km's will expire at the end of August. I'm not very impressed with LAN or LANPASS right now.

While I sympathize with your dilemma, AA Mile Saver availability is not the same as OW partner award availability. If AA has not released the seats to LAN then there is no availability. My suggestion would be to call the AA EXP line and ask if they can get involved to get Revenue Management release a seat. Perhaps they can even speak with the AA/LAN liaison.
