And compensation as I understand is calculated by the revenue fare amount of the class of service and not mileage.....(unless someone wants to correct me on this)......
As far as I know the EU Air Passenger Rights Act only applies to flights from EU airports and EU carriers, so our flight from SIN to IST would not be covered, but I would be very happy to be proved wrong.
As for the compensation, I have described above what Aeroplan has explained to me, and since they are not EU-based I have believed them. However, again, I would be very happy to stand corrected.
