Has anyone ever successfully managed to get a free night using best rate guarantee?
Purchased 2 night 2 rooms at Holiday Inn Melaka via IHG website. Prices quoted in £pounds right up until booking then changed to Malaysian Ringitts. This price was hi-lighted and when clicked on showed conversion to £202.94.
Found same identical rooms/dates on easytobook.com for £200.59 and submitted claim which was rejected as it wasnt in the hotels currency and that hotel was fully booked when operator tried to access it.
Happy enough with the price I have paid but when I tried easytobook website again the same rooms were available but had increased to £202.60- still cheaper but outside the 1% price difference. - I did take 2 screenshots of easytobook website showing cheaper price before submitting claim- better luck next time.
