I will maybe be driving from Boston to Quebec and Toronto in October/November. Do you guys think there is any chance that I will get winter tyres even for a fee? I don't want to rent the car in Canada since it's more expensive and also flying into Canada costs more.
For everyone saying that you won't need winter tyres, please do not say that. I live in Finland and we must by law use winter tyres for at least four months of the year. The difference between winter tyres and normal tyres is huge! As soon as the road gets even a little icy driving with normal tyres becomes tough, even for someone who is used to winter conditions.
One year I drove Toronto-NY in early November and an icy rain started. Driving was certainly very unpleasant. Another time I drove Flagstaff-Vegas in heavy snow and I still don't understand how I didn't crash

So please, be careful and don't risk your lives!
