My Wife is trying to redeem points to go YYZ - DPS however any flights leaving YYZ are about $1000 in taxes and fees. The same flight with an origin at EWR - DPS - YYZ is $<200 even though the flight does a connecting through YYZ.
It's more economical to purchase a one way to EWR then pay the tax at YYZ.

Could my wife just check in at YYZ to save the whole EWR leg?
