LAN is the issue. All oneworld carriers have issues with LAN awards.
It's best to search out availability on BA.com but then call in to book, I think.
Even calling in doesn't seem to help as the system tells the agent what it tells us - it seems to be an interface issue between BA and LAN.
I did manage to book a reward ij J an LAN between GRU and SCL using Avios earlier this year by repeatedly trying the booking until it went through on the sixth or seventh attempt.
