Expiring Delta eCredit/Delta Dollars
I have seen a few posts, but nothing very specific recently.
My sister has $600 which will expire on the 30th of this month.
Voucher is valid till end of August, but no mention about when flights must be taken. Should give us another 330 days.
1. Buy something refundable, perhaps for around $650, and see if the total gets refunded to her credit card. Problem is finding such a fare. So far everything I find is $1000 or more.
2. Buy a ticket to Australia (where I am now), though that seems unlikely given the $2700 ballpark coming up to Sydney. I am in Perth and those prices are $7000 in econ! Better to use Star Alliance miles for that.
3. Buy a $600 domestic or cheap international to Europe for unknown dates, gambling on a future use. Might need to pay a change fee, but better than losing all $600.
Anyone with recent experience on going over an expiration on a voucher?
Many thanks.
