Liverpool Radisson now Blu
Stayed 5 nights at the Liverpool Radisson Blu the last week of May.
As a Gold was upgraded to a recently renovated, high floor, water view, urban style, business class room (same size as standard room but additional amenities). I really liked the clean modern design. Room size was adequate; platform bed was very comfortable. Bathroom seemed to have heated floor and fog-free mirror.
Building was on the small side (~10 story) but had skylight atrium that gave the lobby a much larger feel. The bar/lounge was good size with both big open areas and quiet intimate areas.
The restaurant was adequate size and service was good. The breakfast buffet was decent but didn't vary the whole stay. The prix fixe chef's specials were a nice value but also didn't vary for the week. The rest of the menu was interesting and good quality but pricy like any hotel. The restaurant decor was such a bewildering mish-mash of odd styles it was literally unappetizing.
Guests get free access to the adjacent health club with lockers. Never used gym or spa. Pool was barely adequate for lap swimming. Free WiFi was spotty throughout the hotel. Service was friendly and as expected for such a hotel.
I agree with location being in the quiet part of town, but they were good about getting taxis. I previously stayed at the Liverpool Marriott. I liked the location, atmosphere and overall design of the Radisson better.
