Agreed - and why would you? If PLAT with DJ, you could get access when flying JQ, but why would you be flying JQ anyway? Maybe TT, but generally different terminals.
Only reason I can see is you are meeting someone, and you want somewhere to wait.

Well, I've used it when family wanted to come and see Mrs adl73x and I off. We're both VA plat, and even though we were travelling, being able to guest non-travelling relatives into the lounge was very helpful. And I've guested in QF travelling colleagues to show them what they're missing.
At no time when I've done this has the lounge been overcrowded.
All now VA's loss. Pity.
