I bought mine from Currys/PC World in central Manchester yesterday and was pretty lucky - they had a no show on a reservation. A few places have had them in stock and they sell out quickly. Incidentally, the retail channel here won't touch the 8GB model and I think this is sensible (really, no one wants one).

First thoughts? Clearly, it's an awful lot of device for the money and this plus the Google branding (the brand being by far Google's biggest asset - they're cooler than Apple in the eyes of many) has made it a bit of a hot cake.

Setup was hassle free and I find I prefer some things to my Samsung Galaxy S3. The email client, for example, is far more reliable when it comes to rendering HTML messages and I slightly prefer the Calendar app to s.Planner (though Samsung wins thanks to a superior widget). As I've said before (and now proved to myself), a lighter 7" device is superior for e-book reading and I'm sure Apple will follow if they wish to realise their ambitions in publishing.

Not to like? A 3G option would be nice, as would a micro SD card slot but most people buying the Nexus 7 already know about these limitations.
