Hi

This is my first post so hopefully I'm in the right place!

I am currently booked on a regular price club world ticket on BA 183 on 3rd September. My other half is on the same flight but on a reward ticket in WT+.

I have been checking reward availability every day so we can upgrade the WT+ ticket to allow us to sit together in CW but no luck so far. When I check the seat map online there are loads of spare seats in CW (2/3 empty) so I'm wondering why some haven't been released for reward trips. I'm wondering if economy is oversold (since 3 Sep is Labor Day in the US so maybe lots of tourists returning?) and hence they wont release the CW seats as they'll be upgrading people. Is there a way someone on this forum can see if the flight is oversold?

If so I may switch to an earlier AA flight which has lots of First availability (but no biz) but that would cost more miles as I'd have to upgrade my CW paid ticket.
