To be honest I wouldn't expect it to apply to that aircraft, it doesn't rely heavily upon electronics.
What I tried to point out that there has never been proof that these kind of devices have contributed to an accident. However, I admit that is not what you were saying. I blame the radiant sunshine on my iPhone.

BTW: I only cited this report because someone else used this accident as proof that mobile phones do bring down aircraft. I simply checked that claim.
Fair enough, I realise I'm taking this debate quite seriously - it annoys me how so many DYKWIA types seem to think that they know better than the experts. Yes it's unlikely that a cellphone will ever cause a serious problem but there is evidence that this possibility does exist.
So many agencies not agreeing on the actual risk and no incident rapport in existence that links any incident to this perceived risk makes it hard to convince me otherwise.
If there is disagreement about the level of risk then surely the best course of action is to play on the safe-side. After all, it's only a phone call. It can wait a few minutes.
