I wonder if the agents I spoke with just didn't like me, or maybe were less experienced and didn't know? (I've run into a number of BA phone agents who don't seem to know the rules about anything, such as who can get 1AK and when, insisting that only BA gold could ever get them, even OneWorld emerald could not ever get them, and certainly no one could at 72 or even 24 hour out, or agents who insisted that since AA issued my ticket which included BA flights, I couldn't check in at a BA desk for my BA flight but needed to check in at an AA desk, or that my itinerary didn't have a valid e-ticket.)
