Good to hear they are upgrading F as well - it was due for it, although I didn't expect them to do it while they were in a financial stifle.

It's cheap enough to arrange for a courier to deliver luggage to/from airports to/from hotels/homes etc anyway - I recommend visitors to Japan to make good use of the excellent services. There is an JAL-affiliated one called ABC (I'm sure JALpak knows this so it's not directed to him/her but rather for the information of general BAEC readers).

For holders of Japan-based Gold or above MasterCard/Visa (it may even work for non-Japan based cards - I don't know, I forgot to try it with my Visa/MC so I don't know if it works) it's currently just 500 Yen for delivery from airport to hotel. Normally about Yen 1280-1680 from memory for a normal size suitcase anywhere in Japan, including airport supplements. It's also easy to pick up an 100 Yen discount voucher from the counter.
