Hardly. The "appropriate gesture" was "pay us 3K/night or chance no lounge."
I guess a better way would be "We are going to be busy, and you will be guaranteed breakfast, however, if you want the lounge benefit you are guaranteed in the plat benefits, please pay us 3K points/night". Wait, that one stinks too.
