But as a platinum member I am EXCEEDINGLY concerned about hotels that do not provide the clearly stated and unambiguous priveleges of platinum status. I am not referring to the "when available" terms, but rather those that are not further qualified in the TandC and which do not leave room for interpretation.
I'm not looking to stir up an argument here, it's just that I really don't think this matter is a widespread issue whatsoever. Are you personally aware of another instance in history where this scenario has played out?
The T&Cs around this benefit have essentially been in place for as long as I can remember. (Admittedly, it's bizarre that they appear and disappear from time to time, but whatever.)
Yes, yes, YES. I, too, would be deeply troubled if I were aware of a pattern of *wood hotels preparing to deny access to lounge access in advance, but, gosh, that's really never happened before that I'm aware of. And, I still feel very strongly (based on experience) that if lounge access were denied, any hotel that I frequent would have a service recovery plan in place to offer an alternative.
