With whatever is launched I am sure that both LIM and/or SCL would be fully codeshared with LAN to maximise utilisation. My money has been on a direct non stop SCL - LAN operate to FRA and MAD and there are flights from CDG also (even though one has to endure AF!!) therefore LHR is the only big European hub left out.

I agree
I find it odd that SCL has been a OW hub for so many years yet has always lacked a direct link to LHR. LAN the OW carriers there serves FRA, CDG and MAD but not LHR. And BA has not flown to SCL yet.
I hear AF makes a killing on this route from all the Chileans who are not impressed with IB and choose to transit through CDG to destinations across Europe etc.
It would not surprise me if there is already a sizeable group of Chileans who travel to the UK via CDG. If BA launch this route not only will BA benefit from Chileans flying to the UK but also could take a chunk of the transit passengers who otherwise would fly thourhg CDG.
