I've had nothing but positive experiences with Thalys, when I needed a refund, it was refunded to my card in a few days usually. This in sharp contrast to the NMBS where I had to show them their own terms and conditions to prove I was entitled to a refund.

That said however, I do think that putting the remains of the person that tried to commit suicide in plain view of the passengers on the train is unacceptable.
Other than that though, MarLim is right that it is completely standard prodecure. I've had a similar experience once where my train (normal one) ran into a horse in full summer. Needless to say it wasn't the most pleasant experience as the train in question had no aircon and seeing mangled bits of horse isn't really a nice view, especially as the heat caused it to smell quite badly after a few hours. However the "Civiele Bescherming" (I think somewhat similar to the US National Guard) handed out water so people could stay hydrated.
