There are an amazing number of bird strikes, involving all sorts of aircraft, every year. Many of them result in significant damage but few, thanks be to God, end up in dual engine failures resulting in planes landing in rivers. I've been involved in a couple myself over the years. (The ones that hit the windscreen will make need for a quick change of drawers.)
