I was there this past weekend for 2 nights. Reserved an inexpensive room (paid stay). Upgraded to a deluxe suite. Single level, but seems to be more square footage than the split level author suites. (Smaller than the College Suite, of course.) Room 400.
Great location for this hotel, right between Temple Bar and Trinity College Dublin.
Concierges and all front desk staff were outstanding. Very helpful and friendly.
We took the free Plat breakfast in the restaurant in lieu of Amenity points. They pointed out we'd have an upcharge if we wanted more than the "continental" or cold buffet. However, that basic buffet is very extensive: lots of fruit, good pastries, cereals, etc. They also include waffles (pre-made), and they'll make you oatmeal if you want. They also custom-made your coffee order - in my case a very nice and frothy hot chocolate instead. OJ is fresh squeezed and served at the table. We left VERY full each morning. Oh, the full buffet offered little more: scrambled eggs and bacon and a few Irish dishes.
Would return there in a heartbeat.
