Ever see a standby passenger told to "take any open seat" plop himself down in F? Usually the person gets moved when the real F passenger shows up or when the seat count is wrong, but if all proper seats are filled and no one is complaining, then all appears well to the FA & GA. I can't say it happened in this case, but IME it's quite plausible, especially with SHARES now leading to GAs finishing the paperwork after the fact.
