While you wait for your qoute, here is why Finnair got they IATA-code:
AY is a bit odd, especially since Finnair been around since 1923 and most other now flying airlines are founded later. One would think AY was first in line to be name FI or something like that. But the company was originally named Aero O/Y, and only took on the name Finnair in the 60's IIRC.
Glad it wasn't called Aero O/W!

The call centre got back to me after a few hours and it turns out the economy/business combination I had in mind is dearer than business all the way. That's because the cheap economy fares have a three-day minimum stay whereas the cheapest business fare has none. Interesting. I guess I'll go ahead and spoil myself.
