For the record, clause 2.1.2 makes a similar provision for first-class BahnCard 25s.
Also, if you query the
bahn.de journey planner for a second class ticket for a 1st class BahnCard holder, it will show the second class ticket price with the relevant discount applied.
By the way, I don't think that second-class rail travel in Europe is ever referred to as "coach"...
