If AA is able to do NRT-ICN as an extension of their US-NRT flights, then JL can drop the KE codeshare and instead codeshare with AA.
No, actually it means the route is saturated and JL would rather codeshare with a rival than to open a new flight using it's own plane.
If JL is not willing to use it's own plane for that route, why should AA?
