The only Asian route that *might* work is NRT-DEL, which is hard to do from the US because of the sheer distance. Flying though Asia is less distance from the west coast. DL gave up on it and now only flies AMS-DEL. Somehow, CO managed to pull off both JFK-DEL and JFK-BOM which UA now flies.
I agree. Personally, would rather fly direct if possible.
Another thing with a route like NRT-ICN is that KE flights are flying as JL codeshare already so it doesn't make sense for AA to add to that route.
