I agree- I don't think AA is coming back into the Bay Area in any big fashion anytime soon (unless they bought either AS or VX AND retained the route network from the purchase, neither of which are mortal locks by any stretch of the imagination). SFO and SJC are just going to be spokes for the forseaable future.

There's plenty of longhaul service they could introduce nonstop from ORD/MIA/DFW/JFK/LAX that makes more sense than either building a focus city in TYO or SFO/SJC.
