Two times out of three, the conductor's scanner couldn't read it, and they ended up just typing in my reservation number to confirm my details. Because it's (in theory) faster to scan a code than to read and type in an alphanumeric string.
I used eTicketing for the first time this weekend, and there were no problems scanning my phone all three times. But I did overhear a conductor yesterday mentioning issues scanning phones.
