Will you have 3 checked bags yourself? If not, then perhaps some of your sister's bags can be declared as your bags at the check-in counter.
Is that true? When I traveled with my family on US metal with UA status (as *G), my nonstatus companions were entitled to the same luggage allowance as me (3*50lbs each). Perhaps this is another reason to avoid UA metal as I lose my UA status.
