Based on the suggestions I've booked a cluster of four seats on the same side of the aircraft with one person seated in the aisle across. Should work out well. Thanks!

Hence the question I've posed. I've purchased the space in the cabin and I don't see any problem whatsoever with talking to the people in my group; hardly should 'ruin the flight'. This is public transportation. Not a library.
