I think the answer to this will be 'no,' but I just want to check.

I booked a first class, one-way ticket for a friend (AA DCA to ORD) using Avios. At the airport yesterday in DC several flights to ORD were cancelled and my friend was re-accomodated in Y class. Any chance BAEC would refund me the difference in Avios since he ended up in Y instead of First? I'm fairly certain the cancellations were due to weather.
