There seem to be remarkable similarities between this pilot seniority issue and the CP/AC FA seniority merger issue. Same FA union (CUPE) for both companies and despite an arbitrated decision, it is my impression that some bitterness continues to this day over what was perceived as a union policy to use date of hire as the basis for the merger and the AC FA component's rejection of that. Ignoring the employer's wishes also seemed to be part of that situation.
