Getting off topic, but I would think the second carrier would also have to be willing to
accept the bag, no? Or is it just more of a foregone conclusion that they will?
On topic, the train idea is a good one. I might actually prefer a train ride through the German countryside (assuming it is as idyllic in reality as it is in my mind).
