I am a good boy, and would never have to appear in court. I have no idea what the British law are around such devices, but have no interest in finding loopholes.
My posts are instead about the positions made by other posters, who have said that the BA rule may well not affect anything but should be followed blindly as they have been made and agreed by experts.
I quote above one of the BA staff's view of the rules, and am merely pointing out that we all ignore them as we draw a line as to how reasonable it is to apply the no electronics rule to our individual devices.
Your hearing aid might have a one in a trillion chance of affecting the aircraft's operation if switched on, but would hinder you getting out of the aircraft in the one in a billion chance of an evacuation if switched off.
The discussion should be framed around where you draw the line around which electronics should be allowed, and which should be banned. Spending time and effort to post messages that all electronics must be switched off seems rather silly unless you are arguing that watches and hearing aids should be turned off.
I have a lot of time and interest around the different points of view and risk vis a vis airplane-mode Kindles, paperbacks and wi-fi Kindles, and I think the viewers here have some great points to share - I'd like to hear them, rather than having them drowned out by people stating the letter of the rule must be followed at all times as this seems to be a virtual impossibility. Others may wish to disagree!
