[I]LOL! I knew Mr. Edward Said, a bit of a celeb/pariah himself. He told me about how he was at a party once talking with an interesting guy for several hours who was a musician and he had never heard of him. Not surprising coming from where he did and never following pop culture in the west. The guy claimed to be famous..so when Edward got home he asked his daughter if there was a popular musician called "Pete Townsend". His daughter nearly slapped him.
I rarely say much aside from a hello, but if I'd ever had the chance to sit next to Edward Said, I would have tried my best to get an hours-long conversation out of him!
