Bulkhead row or reg. seats? Travelling w/ 3.5 & 1.5 yo

Hi, this is my first post and I just want to thank this forum for providing me some good useful information specifically on travelling with kids. My wife and I will be making our first family trip with a 3.5 & a 1.5 year old from YYZ to GRU Brazil on Air Canada this coming Christmas. I booked my tickets last week and currently assigned a standard ABC row (the 1.5 yo will be a lap baby). The appeal of the standard row is that the armrests fold up to allow the kids to lie down in the middle to sleep.

Air Canada offers preferred seating for an extra $90 per seat per leg. I've heard people opting for the bulkhead row because it provides extra legroom. The bulkhead row just behind the gallery would also provide extra room for the kids to move around in a confined area. But my understanding is the armrests for those rows do not found up because of the trays? My thought is if we want the kids to lie down to sleep, the armrests will be in the way.

Can parents with kids comment on my thought process? Should we stick with the regular seats for the fold up armrests?

Thanks!
